Buhari swears in Sambo as Minister of State for Works, Housing

President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn-in Engr. Muazu Sambo as Minister of State for Works and Housing.

The brief swearing-in ceremony took place in the Executive Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Senate had on Tuesday, December 21, confirmed the nomination of Sambo as minister-designate after a screening.

Sambo will be taking the place of former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, as Minister representing Taraba State in the Federal Executive Council.

Reacting to his swearing in as minister, Muazu vowed to live up to the task placed on him by the President, even as he hopes to work hard to satisfy Nigerians.

“I feel elated, but at the same time, I feel a heavy sense of responsibility. I pray that God Almighty will give me the strength and wisdom to discharge this trust and confidence that Mr. President has placed on me.

“I want to assure Mr. President, that the confidence he has reposed in me, will not be misplaced. I’ll assure Nigerians that I shall carry out my duties as Minister of the Government of the Federation, in accordance with the oath of office I have that has just been administered on me and that I will help Mr. President to propel this country forward.

“Nigerians will expect a very hardworking slave driver,” he said.
