Ondo Prophetess docked for alleged murder

The General Overseer of the All Saints Development Church of Christ, Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government, Prophetess Serah Abuloye, has been docked for alleged murder of a member of her church.

Abuloye was alleged to have killed and dumped 37- year- old Adefunke Aselogbon in a bush behind her church on January 6, 2022.

The 49- year-old Prophetess was remanded by an Akure Magistrates’ Court over alleged murder of a church member.

Police Prosecutor, Obalasa Ajiboye, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 4.00am along Isarun Road, Igbara-oke in the Ondo State Magisterial District.

Abuloye was arraigned on two count charges of conspiracy and murder.

Both offences, according to Ajiboye, were contrary to and punishable under Section 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The plea of the accused was not taken.

Ajiboye, in an oral application, urged the court to remand the defendant to Correctional centres custody pending the outcome of advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Counsel to the defendant, Mrs Ola Adedire, did not oppose the prosecutor’s application.

Presiding Magistrate, Damilola Sekoni, ordered the remand of the defendant o police custody and adjourned the case till February 18, 2022 for ruling on remand application.
