Nigeria asks China to fast-track $500m loan

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammed, on Thursday, appealed to the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Chun Jian Chun, to help fast-track the evaluation and approval of a $500m loan for the execution of three major projects in the broadcast sector.

Muhammed was quoted to have said this during the visit of the Chinese ambassador to his office in Abuja.

A statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media, Office of the Minister of Information and Culture, Segun Adeyemi, said Muhammed also called for the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding between Nigeria and China in an effort to boost tourism in both countries.
