Good leadership important to boost economy – LCCI President

The President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and past District Governor of Rotary International District 9110, Dr Olawale Cole, has said the Nigerian economy can only receive a boost with good leadership and the citizens’ support.

He said this during a visit of the District Governor, Omotunde Lawson, to the club.

Olawale said the nation’s economy could not advance with the current state of leadership. He added that until its resources were adequately harnessed by good leadership, the country may not get to promise land.

He said, “The truth is that, all we need to make Nigeria work is good leadership. We have all that it takes. We have vibrant people and over 200 million intelligent people and we are also endowed with a lot of resources as a nation. All we need is leadership that will harness all the resources that will get us into the promise land.

“We know that things are not easy the way they are now but I can assure you that it is doable. Nigeria can be great, Nigeria can rise again and surely will arise . All we need is good leaders and citizens to support good leadership. I know that Nigerians are ready, if we have a good leader, they will follow.”

He added, that as a contribution to the country’s economy and growth, the club had launched micro-credit facilities to Nigerians, free cervical and prostrate cancer test, free test and donation of free eye glasses, and was set to deliver a world class cervical cancer centre to Isolo General hospital before the end of the rotary year.

Lawson applauded the Imaginative President of the club, Dr Atilade Oshoniyi, for his exceptional leadership and contribution to the economy and lives of Nigerians.
