N2.1m debt: NCAA renews Azman Air’s licence, airline resumes operations

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has renewed the Azman Air’s Air Transport Licence (ATL) upon fulfilment of all outstanding requirements.

NCAA Director General, Capt. Musa Nuhu, made this known licence document signed in Lagos on Friday.

Nuhu said the licence number, which was NCAA/ATR1/ATL118 would be valid for a five year period from 2022 through 2027 before another renewal would be expected.

NCAA on Thursday has suspended Azman Air over the airline’s inability to renew its Air Operator Certificate.

Nuhu said the renewal of the Air Transport Licence (ATL) of Azman Air, enable the airline to resume flight operations.

“The licence is to operate the scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo air services within and outside Nigeria is hereby granted.

“This licence is pursuant to Section 18.2.2.3 and Section 18.2.2.4 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2015.

” This is for the period of five years from Sept. 16, 2022 to Sept. 15, 2027.”

He noted that the utilisation of the licence should be in compliance with all relevant Civil Aviation Regulations.
