Ikorodu warehouse can accommodate 9,000 containers – Customs

The Nigeria Customs Service, has said that the Ikorodu government warehouse can comfortably accommodate 9,000 containers.

The Zonal Public Relations Officer, Uche Ejesieme, said this in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the Zonal Coordinator in charge of Zone A of the Service an Assistant Controller of Customs, Adeyanju Aremu,  said this when she went on an ‘on the port’ assessment of the facility.

It stated, “As part of the oversight function of the zonal coordinator, zone ‘A’ to the facilities under her supervision, the ACG on Wednesday 5 October 2022, embarked on a working visit to Ikorodu Customs Warehouse for an on-the-spot assessment of the general conditions of the warehouse.

“This is coming on the heels of some insinuations in the media space which erroneously indicated that the facility is filled to the brim, and therefore can no longer be readily available for deposition of overtime/seized goods.

“The facility can comfortably accommodate about 9000 containers and other general goods.”
