Aero Contractors, Nigeria’s oldest aviation company says it is restarting its scheduled services in the Nigerian market with 10 destination routes across the country.
The newly appointed Managing Director of the airline, Capt. Ado Sanusi, made this known during the re-launching ceremony at its headquarters in Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
It would be recalled that Aero had suspended its scheduled services on July 20, 2022 to enable it to restructure and reposition the airline.
Sanusi said the management was happy to announce that the airline would restart scheduled flight services on December 5 with Warri, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Benin, Yola, Sokoto, Kano, Asaba and Calabar routes.
He said: “These destinations routes include; Warri, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Benin, Yola, Sokoto, Kano, Asaba and Calabar.
“The airline will be operating with Boeing 737 and Dash 8 (Q- 300/400) servicing 10 destinations.
“This is because the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authorities (NCAA) had given approval for Aero Contractors to resume operations having satisfied with the regulatory requirements.”
“The airline now has four business development units, namely; the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO), the Fixed Wing airline operations, the Rotary Wing helicopter services and the Aero Training School.”
Sanusi said it was pleased to resume full services, thanking all its stakeholders who had been supportive, particularly NCAA, its management and staff.
The managing director admitted that it missed its customers dearly and it was back bigger and better to serve them better.
According to him, we are determined to offer great travel experience to our customers during this season and beyond. We look forward to welcoming them on board.
Earlier, Sanusi said the management held an inter-faith prayers for the airline’s re-launch of its scheduled operations to serve its teeming flying public better.
“We are grateful to God for this opportunity, and we have decided to invite our respected spiritual leaders to come and pray for us.
“So we can secure divine guidance, protection and blessings before launching our services,” he said.
Sanusi thanked the NCAA, its management and staff who had contributed immensely to realising this opportunity to continue to serve the Nigerian market, particularly its highly esteemed customers.
He said the new management would ensure all stakeholders of its determination to offer great travel experience to the flying public.
Earlier, the Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, Archbishop of Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Rt Rev. James Odedeji, prayed for the growth of the airline.
Also the Chief Imam of Adangba Central Mosque, Idimu, Lagos, Sheik Abdulrahman Adangba, urged the staff and management to ensure it corrected all past issues that led to the suspension of operations.
