Electorates complain of late arrival of election materials

Report across sections of the country has shown delay in the arrival of electoral materials and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials.
In ward 08, unit 001, Ojo Local Government of Lagos State as at 11am is yet to see the INEC officials with electoral materials.
However, a voter who wants to be identified as Tunde noted that they are patiently waiting for the officials, adding that there has been a peaceful atmosphere within the area.
In Festac area of Amowo Odofi, Lagos State, our correspondent observed that the INEC officials have not arrived by 10:00 am, but the electorate is hopeful and patiently waiting.
The people at polling unit 002, Ilogbo, Ado Odo Ota, Ogun State, is not different as the INEC officials are yet to arrive by 9:45am. A voter, Goodluck Onighodo, stated that voters have been patiently waiting since 6:30 am, adding that they will wait until the INEC personnel arrive as the environment is peaceful.
The people of Shangisha and Magodo in Lagos State are also experiencing late arrival of materials as election materials and the ad hoc staff members are arriving by 11:45am.
The situation is not also different in Onitsha Anambra State, as our correspondent affirmed that there are no signs of electoral officials anywhere in Anambra North.
An electorate identified as Odi Nnezianya, stated that people are roaming the streets looking for where to vote, stressing that the INEC officials are nowhere to be found.
Nnezianya pointed out that the people are fully out to participate but frustrated as there are no INEC officials to attend to them, saying that the area is very peaceful.
According to our correspondent, the people of Ekeremo area of Bayelsa State have started accreditation and election is expected to commence soon, while some other polling centres in the same local government have not received electoral materials.
Averagely, voting has been peaceful in Lagos except at few polling units including one at Aguda, Surulere where hoodlums came and snatched the ballot box.
