TCN warns against illegal connection of electricity

He said that illegal connection of electricity was dangerous to users as it obstructed the lines most times.

“Therefore, customers should stop illegal connection, not because of them alone, but also for our equipment to last longer for the benefits of the consumers.

“Building under the right-of-ways can be very harmful to their health and can affect their fertility.

“We have formed a committee here in Kano in collaboration with security agencies and district heads to curb the menece of encroachment and vandalism, ” he said.

Muhammed-Gote said that the company had concluded arrangements to expand Bichi, Dan’agundi, Dakata, Kumbotso substations, among others.

According to him, TCN wants to radiate a line from Kaduna to Rimin Zakara, that carries four bundles of conductors, instead of two, with capacity of about 2100 megawatts.

“It has already been awarded, once it is done issues of light in Kano will be resolved.

The general manager called on consumers to endeavour to always pay their bills on time, as it was used to generate more light and expand power industry.
