Ofala festival: Obi of Onitsha most cerebral, charismatic monarch, says Uzochukwu

Stanel Group CEO, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, has described the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, as the Africa’s most cerebral, first-class, charismatic, innovative and pragmatic monarch on Nigerian soil.
Uzochukwu hailed the paramount ruler while congratulating the monarch on the huge success of the just-concluded 2023 edition of Ofala Festival of the Onitsha Kingdom in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Abuja on Monday. The statement read in part, “I congratulate my father, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe CFR mni, and the entire people of Onitsha Kingdom on the huge success of this year Ofala Festival.
“No doubt, Igwe Achebe is African most cerebral, charismatic, pragmatic, innovative and people-friendly monarch we have among us.
“I am one of the many young Nigerians who has been groomed and benefited from the excellent leadership and mentorship of the monarch who has established outstanding legacies in both academic and traditional institutions across the world.
“In deed, Onitsha Kingdom is blessed to have a Royal Father who has served and still serving in over 50 public and private prestigious institutions and establishments as board/trustee chairman, member and in other capacities.
“Applying modern management and leadership principles to traditional governance and the progressive evolution of the culture of the people of the Kingdom in particular and Anambra traditional system at large has distinguished the Majesty amongst his equal and I particularly take pride in that milestone. The transformation is a clear statement of excellent leadership.
“I join other eminent sons and daughters of Anambra State to commend Igwe for upholding the age-long tradition and the cultural heritage of the ancient Onitsha Kingdom.
“I therefore pray God to grant the Igwe many more years in sound health to continue the reign in majesty.”
The 2023 Ofala Festival, which was held between October 14 and 15 with the theme: ‘Better, Stronger and Together’, showcased the cultural heritage of Onitsha people of Anambra State.
