Threats won’t stop me from standing with Fubara – Factional Rivers Speaker

*Alleges plots to link him with DPO murder
Factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, has said that he will continue to stand with Governor Siminalayi Fubara despite threats to him and his family.
This is as he said that those who sponsored Policemen that attempted to forcefully enter his compound in Port Harcourt late Sunday night, were doing everything to link him with the gruesome murder of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Ahoada Police Division, late SP Bako Angbashim.
Ehie spoke on Monday while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on the alleged attempt by Policemen and some armed thugs to assassinate him.
He said: “I stand with state governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara. He was voted by the people of Rivers State to serve them. No matter the threat to me and my family, I will continue to stand by the governor.
“I have come under threats. My family has been under threats since I was elected Speaker of the House. They are trying to falsefully link me to the killing of SP Bako. They have been trying to plant arms and ammunition in my house in the village. This is how desperate they have gone to suppress us.”
Ehie, therefore, called on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbotokun, to arrest and prosecute two senior Police officers who accused leading the attempted attack on his residence.
