Obi drums support for Akpata in Edo

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, was, on Tuesday, in Benin to drum up support for the LP governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata, ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.

Speaking at the different campaign locations, Obi urged eligible voters in the state to come out en masse to cast their votes for Akpata, pledging that the LP candidate was the most qualified to fix Edo State.

“I am here to tell you that the Labour Party’s candidate, Olumide Akpata, has the capacity to fix and move the state forward.

“I urge the electorate to come out en masse and vote for our party’s candidate. I am here to mobilise for our candidate and assure you that he will do well,” Obi told the crowd.

The LP campaign train moved from the party’s secretariat at Saponba Road through Ring Road, Oba Market, Mission Road, New Benin to the New Lagos Road.

The party’s faithful defied the early downpour and followed their party leaders around the metropolis to woo voters ahead of the election.
