D’BusinessDoctor Mentorship Academy in collaboration with KB Klub College of Medicine, University of Lagos is proud to announce the graduation of its latest cohort of mentees.
The ceremony, held on Sunday, 31st August 2025, in Victoria Island Lagos, marks a significant milestone for the mentees and the organization’s mission to transform the next generation of healthcare business leaders by immersing them in the skills necessary to transform healthcare systems and businesses.
Harley and Wall Healthcare and Business Consulting introduced the first Health and Medical Business Academy in 2017, in collaboration with the Nigerian Medical Association, coached, trained and mentored medical doctors and health workers from different organisations, equipping them with the capacities needed to be strategic thinkers, empower the next generation of innovators, develop future healthcare business leaders and foster community growth.
Our vision has always been to transform healthcare by developing the leadership, management and entrepreneurial capacities of its workforce, hence bridging the gap between potential and opportunity.

Over the past 12 weeks, the mentees were immersed in a comprehensive programme designed to cultivate leadership skills, sharpen business acumen, and provide real-world perspectives on the business of healthcare — a critical gap in traditional medical training.
Guest Speaker: Mr. Biodun Oke
One of the highlights of the event was the keynote address delivered by Mr. Biodun Oke, Investment Banker and Director of Group Sales at Vetiva Asset Management, and Principal Consultant with Harley & Wall Consulting. Drawing from his vast experience in finance and consulting, Mr. Oke inspired the graduating mentees on the importance of financial intelligence, resilience, and entrepreneurial vision in building a sustainable career in health systems strengthening.
In a goodwill message, Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu, National Vice President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), congratulated the graduates, affirming the Association’s commitment to nurturing healthcare leaders who combine clinical excellence with business acumen to drive innovation and sustainability. He expressed confidence that the new alumni would build enterprises that improve patient care and strengthen the nation’s health sector.
With practical skills in strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation, the new alumni are expected to contribute to reshaping healthcare delivery in Nigeria and beyond.
Award Spotlight
The graduation also featured the presentation of certificates of completion and special recognitions. The prestigious Most Outstanding Leader Award was presented to Bolaji Ogunyade, applauded by peers and mentors alike for her dedication, initiative, and exceptional leadership throughout the program.
The Bigger Picture
Founded by Dr. Ademolu Owoyele, a healthcare business consultant, D’BusinessDoctor Mentorship Academy was established to “open the eyes of young healthcare professionals to the business side of medicine.” By helping mentees understand that practising medicine does not exclude them from becoming successful entrepreneurs, the Academy empowers them to follow in the footsteps of trailblazers like Dr. Sonny Kuku and Amb. Dr Iyke Odo who exemplifies clinical excellence combined with business leadership.
