The Enugu State airline – Enugu Air, has procured additional three aircraft to scale up its fleet by 100 percent.

The Business Intelligence Africa (TBI) Africa magazine gathered that the airline took delivery of the three aircraft last week bringing its total fleet to six aircraft.

The state government said: “Enugu Air has strengthened its operations with the delivery of three additional Embraer aircraft, further expanding its fleet and operational capacity.

“Embraer is globally respected for producing modern, fuel-efficient regional jets widely used by leading airlines across Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

“Embraer aircraft are known for their reliability, lower operating costs, passenger comfort, and suitability for short- to medium-haul routes, making them ideal for regional connectivity and network expansion.

“The addition of three Embraer aircraft positions Enugu Air to improve route frequency, enhance service reliability, and support its ambition to connect Enugu and the South-East more efficiently to key domestic and regional destinations.

“”With this milestone, Enugu Air now has 6 aircraft in its fleet.”

By doubling its fleet, the airline will significantly increase its passenger capacity, expand routes and serve more destinations and boost revenue of Enugu State. In addition, it entails creating jobs by hiring more staff, and increasing flight frequencies.

Doubling a fleet means rapid expansion and indicates a massive scaling-up of operations. If this rapid growth is sustained, its fleet will be well in excess of 100 aircraft in strategic 15-20 year growth plan.
