‘Thank you, Mr President,’ freed Oyo pupils, teachers express gratitude

The pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and security agencies following their rescue from captivity.

In a video shared by presidency on Friday after regaining their freedom, the victims thanked the President for his commitment to ensuring their safe return, while also commending security operatives for their efforts during the rescue operation.

“We are grateful, Mr President, sir. We are grateful. We understand your commitment to our safety, and we appreciate all you did for us. We could see it in your heart. Thank you very much,” one of the rescued victims said.

The victim also praised the security personnel involved in the operation.

“And every security operative tried so much and that is why we are still alive now. We are very grateful to you. Thank you very much.

“Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. God bless you, sir. God bless you, sir. Thank you, sir,” the victim added.

PUNCH Online had reported that the pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State had regained their freedom.

The development was announced on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

In a post shared on his verified X handle, Onanuga confirmed that the victims had been rescued by security agencies.

“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” he wrote.
