Strike: EKEDC urges customers to use approved e-payment channels

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has urged its customers to use the company’s approved e-payment channels due to the closure of all its business offices.

The company said it temporarily closed all its business offices due to the ongoing industrial strike action by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

Mr Babatunde Lasaki, General Manager, Corporate Communication and Strategy, confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos.

He said that cash services would operate on a reduced scale during the period, while encouraging customers to use approved e-payment channels to pay their utility bills to continue to stay connected.

He emphasised that customer complaints should be addressed to the company’s official channels, including customers care lines.

According to Lasaki, the company is taking measures to ensure minimal disruption to its services during this period.

The EKEDC spokesperson, therefore, restated the DisCo’s commitment to customers satisfaction and service delivery.

He noted that the company’s efforts was to address the impact of the strike on its operations and provides alternative means for customers to access their services.

Lasaki, however, said that despite the industrial action and in compliance with organised labour directives, EKEDC remains dedicated to upholding service standards, as its staff would be available to attend to essential services.
