Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), along with key stakeholders and regulators, is leading efforts to promote the adoption of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as viable clean energy alternatives at the 2025 West Africa LPG Expo in Nigeria.

Mr. Jeffrey Leung, Director of the LPG Expo, shared the news in a statement issued on Friday in Lagos, announcing that the expo will bring together global and regional energy leaders to accelerate West Africa’s transition to clean energy.

Leung said that the event is scheduled to take place from March 3 to 4, 2025, in Lagos, the event will serve as a landmark gathering for the energy sector. Over 3,000 industry professionals, 100+ exhibitors, and senior decision-makers are expected to attend, exploring the next frontier of clean energy solutions across Africa.

Leung emphasized that Ekpo, as the guest of honor, will reaffirm Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to advancing LPG and CNG adoption, positioning these energy sources as key pillars of the country’s energy transition.

The minister’s participation underscores the Nigerian government’s proactive efforts to foster innovation, attract investment, and implement policies that will not only transform Nigeria’s energy sector but also set a benchmark for the entire region’s clean energy future.

Additionally, Mr. Abiodun Ogunleye, the Commissioner for Energy at Lagos State’s Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources, will deliver a welcome address as a special guest.

His speech will highlight Lagos State’s critical role in promoting sustainable energy development and reinforcing the clean energy ecosystem in the region.
