Don’t engage in self-help to fix electrical faults, IBEDC tells customers

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has appealed to its customers not to engage in self-help in fixing electrical faults during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Mr John Ayodele, IBEDC Chief Operating Officer, in a statement on Sunday in Osogbo also urged Muslim faithful and others to observe critical safety measures in the spirit of celebrating the Eid-el-Kabir.

While wishing Muslim faithful happy celebration, Ayodele appealed to customers to steer clear of electrical installations and powerlines during the festive period.

He also urged customers to always ensure that they switch off all electrical appliances not in use and not engage quacks to fix faults

Ayodele added that parents and guardians should ensure proper supervision of their children to prevent domestic and electrical accidents.

He also advised motorists to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and observe traffic rules to prevent collision with electric poles.

Ayodele reiterated IBEDC’s resolve to continue to do everything within its capacity to improve its services.
