Lagos Fire Service begins 2019 Evacuation Drill

The Lagos State Fire Service has commenced the 2019 Evacuation Drill  for Lagos State Public Service.

The Lagos State Fire Service Public Affairs Officer, Mr Jamiu Dosunmu, stated this on Tuesday in Lagos.

Dosunmu said that the exercise kicked off at the state’s Deputy Governor’s Office in a statement.

The theme of the 2019 exercise is: ‘Zero tolerance for uncontrollable fire outbreak.’

Dosunmu said that the annual exercise was  geared toward acquainting civil servants with the ‘dos and don’ts’ of fire safety.

” This includes what to do in the case of fire outbreak and safe escape from hazardous environment.

” The exercise will also be taken to all ministries, departments and agencies at different dates in the main and old Spsecretariat complexes.

” It wil  also be taken to the State House of Assembly and other agencies of government outside the secretariat,” Dosunmu said.

According to him, the annual programme is a confirmation of  the premium importance government places on the safety of its workforce and the citizens of the state in general.

“This is in line with Gov. Babajide Sanwoolu’s agenda on  security and governance agenda,” he said.
