Jam’iyyatu Ansariddeen Attijjaniyyah (JAA), an Islamic organisation, has appealed to the Federal Government to take measures to stop criminals within the aviation sector from framinh innocent individuals.
National Secretary of the group, Sayyidi Muhammad-Al Qasim Yahaya made the call in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja while reacting to the recent acquittal of Alaramma Ibrahim Ibrahim by the Saudi Arabian Government.
Ibrahim, a Zamfara State-born Qur’anic memoriser, was arrested and detained by Saudi Arabian government over alleged drugs peddling.
Yahaya commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, for their efforts to ensure the release of Ibrahim.
Ibrahim was detained by the Saudi authorities for more than two years over an alleged offence which he was proven innocent.
He expressed delight over the way and manner Buhari and Malami treated the matter with the entire legal diplomatic angle available to ensure that a miscarriage of justice was not done.
Similarly, the national secretary of the group commended the Federal Government for the gracious audience and assistance granted to the organisation on the matter.
He also lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Voice of America (VOA) for ensuring the release of the cleric.
“Jam’iyyatu Ansariddeen Attijjaniyyah wishes to use this medium to urge the government to take drastic measures to ensure that criminals within the aviation and related sectors do not frame unsuspecting innocent and well respected citizens in the course of their nefarious activities as experienced by the learned scholar.
Jam’iyyatu Ansariddeen Attijjaniyyah, is a global umbrella organisation for all the followers of the Tijjaniyyah order, established by the Maulana Sheikhul Islam, Alhaji Ibrahim Niass.
