Former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu laid to rest

The remains of former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu have been laid to rest.

His remains were buried at the Gudu Cemetery located in the nation’s capital Abuja.

The brief ceremony was witnessed by some dignitaries, including the former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim and Former Borno governorship candidate Kashim Ibrahim-Imam amongst others.

Speaking to newsmen after the interment service, Ibrahim-Imam who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, described the late Mantu as a patriot who will be missed dearly.

He prayed God to comfort his family and the people of Plateau State.

Mantu who was Deputy President between 2001 and 2007 died in the early hours of Tuesday in an Abuja hospital.

He was 74.
