COVID-19 recovery rate dropped by 39%, says NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says a total of 2,059 COVID-19 patients were discharged from various health centres across the country between September 20 and 26, 2021.

According to the centre, there is a decrease in the number of discharged patients in week 38 and week 39 of the pandemic in Nigeria.

It said, “In week 39, the number of discharged cases deceased to 1,483 from 2,059 in week 39. These were reported in the 36 states and the FCT. This signifies a 39 per cent decrease.”

The centre added that in the reporting week, it tested 51,096 samples.

Currently, Nigeria has over 9,000 active cases with just two per cent of the total population fully vaccinated.
