Ogun Speaker commends FG for Lagos-Abeokuta road

The Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekumbi, has commended the Federal Government for approving the revised contract for the reconstruction of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway

Adekunbi (APC-Yewa North 1), gave the commendation at the house plenary in Abeokuta on Thursday. He described the approval of the contract as a testimony of the evenly spread democratic dividends under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

The speaker noted that the reconstruction of the road would boost economic activities and raise the standard of living in the state. He expressed optimism for the timely completion of the road and described infrastructural development as critical to achieving human capital growth in any society.

Also, the member representing Ado-Odo Ota/Ota 1, Mr Akinpelu Aina, commended the federal government for the approval.

 

Aina said the reconstruction of the road would be great relief to motorists and commuters plying the axis as well as the residents.

The lawmaker further commended the state government for facilitating federal government projects sited in the state.

TBI Africa recalls that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved the revised contract for the reconstruction of the highway.
