Ultimatum to Buhari: PDP commends NASS’s courage

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has commended National Assembly members for patriotism and courage in unanimously standing up for democracy, rule of law, national stability and cohesion of Nigeria.

The party gave the commendation in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, on Tuesday in Abuja. It said the resolutions of the joint session of the National Assembly against President Muhammadu Buhari were a vindication of PDP’s stance on the administration.

The statement recalled that PDP had consistently spoken on unrelenting violations of Nigeria’s Constitution, executive highhandedness, abuse of the rights of citizens and the erosion of all known democratic norms under the present administration.

The party said it had become evident that the President must be called to order through an appropriate legislative instrument.

It called on all democrats across board, irrespective of party affiliations, to come together and support the National Assembly to save Nigeria’s democracy.
