Be prudent, Tambuwal tells new LG caretaker committee chairmen

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal 0f Sokoto State on Wednesday swore in 23 Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen, four months after the tenure of elected chairmen expired.

Tambuwal, after swearing-in  the caretaker chairmen at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House in Sokoto, charged them to be prudent, transparent and to live up to the expectation of their people.

He said that they were selected on merit, after due consultation with party stakeholders from their respective areas.

The governor enjoined them to work in line with the expectations of their people and keep good relationship with traditional, religious and community groups.

He said that local government administration was all about bringing good services to people at their doorsteps, and advised them to always live in their respective areas.

Tambuwal also swore-in Alhaji Cika Umar and Buhari Ibrahim as Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service.

Speaking on behalf of others, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim, caretaker committee chairman of Sokoto North, assured the governor that they would ensure that good governance is entrenched in the council areas.

He urged the people to pray and support their administration to succeed.

The Secretary to State Government, Prof. Bashir Garba, politicians and other government officials attended the ceremony.
