Completion of 330 KVA transmission line in Damaturu boosts power in Yobe

Artisans and entrepreneurs in Damaturu have pledged to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election in 2019 due to the completion of the 330KVA transmission line in the area.

The completion of the transmission line has led to improved social and commercial activities in Damaturu.

The group which spoke in separate interviews on

Wednesday, said electricity had remained stable since the switch over from 33KVA to 330KVA, promoting their small and medium scale enterprises.

Malam Ali Umaru, a fabricator in Damaturu, said the stability in power supply had grossly reduced the use of generating sets and money expended on diesel.

“Since the completion of the 330KVA transmission line to Damaturu, we have had steady power supply with high voltage.

“President Buhari has fulfilled our dreams and promoted our businesses; there is no alternative to the Buhari’s presidency in 2019,” Umaru said.

Alhaji Yaro Abubakar, a fabricator of trucks for long vehicles in Potiskum but with a branch in Damaturu, said the improvement in power supply had also improved his business.

“The volume of work has increased and more hands are needed, thereby creating employment opportunities to many youths in the state.

“There is chain value in the improvement of power supply to the state through the volume of work, employment`s opportunity for youths, food and water vendors making brisk business,” he said.

According to Yaro, the Buhari’s administration has fulfilled the peoples` long time dream; saying that artisans and their families will support and campaign for continuity of the Buhari’s administration.

Bukar Alkali, an automobile electrician, said the improved electricity supply had made his work much easier with higher output.

“Battery chargers and ignition repairs among others are now completed within short period.

“We now service our customers without delay; the incidences making us not to meet our datelines with customers, due to poor electricity supply, are virtually gone, there is great improvement in our output,” Bukar said.

Other residents in Damaturu, such as meat sellers, hair salon operators, cold drink and food vendors are generally celebrating the improvement in power supply, following the switch over to the 330KVA transmission line.
