Petrol station manager docked for stealing employer’s N890,790

The police on Wednesday arraigned a 43 year-old man Agbokeru Oluwaseyi in an Abeokuta Magistrates ‘Court for allegedly stealing N890,790 belonging to his employer

The prosecutor Insp Olubisi Lawerence, said the accused committed the offence between 2017 and 2018 Muyad Petrol Station at Olomore area in Abeokuta.

He said the money belonged to Muyad Nigeria Limited.

Lawerence alleged that the accused fraudulent converted the sum of N895,790 being realised from the sales of petrol to his personal use.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened the provisions of sections 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun 2006.

The accused, whose address was not given,  pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of stealing.

The Magistrate, Mr Olarewanju Onagoruwa, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N400,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Onagoruwa ordered that the sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of court and provide evidence of tax payment of Ogun government.

He adjourned the case until Nov 22, for hearing.
