The Institut français du Nigéria (IFN), says it will launch a year-long recreational project titled “Garden After Work”, to promote creativity in Nigeria.
Ms Marina Lacal, the Cultural Programme Officer of IFN, announced this in a statement issued in Abuja.
Lacal said the project would be launched on Jan. 17, adding that, when fully operational, it would encourage creative minds to interact monthly on Thursdays from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
“The IFN garden will open its doors to creative people, who want to meet up.
“The goal of the “Garden After Work” is to share new creative projects in town with like-minded people and in front of a general audience interested in art and culture
Such audiences will cut across artists, cultural entrepreneurs, teachers and students.
“All of these will take place in a relaxed atmosphere and with good music playing in the background.
“Furthermore, it is also the place to share ideas, get feedback and find partners with whom to collaborate on artistic projects.
“Each third Thursday of the month, a creative group of people, who work in various artistic fields such as dance, theatre, music, photography and cinema will be hosted by the IFN,’’ Lacal stated.
She urged people, who are interested in becoming DJ or perform during one of such events, to contact the Institute for due consideration
