N-Power volunteers in Kwara organise prayer for Buhari’s re-election

By Giwa SHILE

Volunteers in the N-Power programme of the Federal Government on Monday in Ilorin organised a special prayer for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the Feb. 16 presidential election.

Leading the prayer, Malam Ibrahim Al-Fulani, prayed Allah to ensure the victory of the president at the poll to further move the country forward.

Al-Fulani, who also prayed for long life for the president, said  that the N-Power  programme had impacted positively  on the beneficiaries than similar initiatives  in the past.

The Islamic scholar also prayed for the victory of all other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara and across the country.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the prayer, Mr Abulwaheed Yusuf, a volunteer who teaches at Mount Carmel Secondary School in Ilorin, said that the prayer was to appreciate the Buhari administration for coming up with the N-Power programme.

“The prayer is to appreciate the efforts on President Muhammadu Buhari on all the N-Power beneficiaries in Kwara and Nigeria as a whole.

“The N-Power helps a lot. The situation whereby most of us did not have a means of living and when we were involved in this N-Power, we began to experience what life means,’’ Yusuf said.

He noted that the N30,000 monthly stipend had assisted  most beneficiaries to empower themselves.

The volunteer, who urged Nigerians to vote wisely  and return the president  for a second time, warned against political thuggery and violence.

Another volunteer in the N-Power Agro initiative, who hails  from Oyo State but resides  in Kwara, Abdullahi Akintola, said that the programme was transparent in selection of beneficiaries.

Akintola said that with Buhari’s  re-election, he believes that  many youths would further benefit from the laudable programmes of the president.

“Let me tell you that N30,000 stipend is doing a lot in our family. I have graduated for more than six years without a job until when N-Power came in.

“With the N-Power, I can count myself among Nigerians now and happy to be one.

“ That is why I urge the youths, fathers and mothers  anywhere in the country to vote wisely and never waste their votes,’’ Akintola said.——NAN
