Lagos tasks parents, teachers on protection of public schools’ infrastructure

The Lagos State Government on Monday urged teachers, Community Development  Associations (CDAs), Parents Teachers Associations (PTAs) and other stakeholders, to ensure adequate protection of schools’ infrastructure in the state.

The Deputy Governor,  Dr Idiat Adebule, made the appeal at the inauguration of eight blocks of classrooms at Oke Odo Junior Primary School, Agbado Oke Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos.

She said that the huge investment on education  by the Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode led-administration  was aimed at improving the standard of education.

According to her, quality teaching and learning in schools to make Lagos schools compete globally, is the priority of the present administration.

“The government is committed to promoting  the growth of qualitative education across  the state.

“As we are commissioning this school, let me on behalf of the governor, call on our parents to always guide and guard these schools’ infrastructure  jealously.

“This way, you will  prove to the state government that you know the  value and I assure you that  they will have  positive impact on the learning of our children.

“Our students will be able to stand up and compete with their counterparts in other civilised countries,  ” she said.

While appreciating the state government for the construction  of the building, Mrs Foluke Adewumi, tyhe principal of the school, promised that the infrastructure would be well maintained.——-NAN
