SGF, Attah of Igala react to Buhari’s second term

The Chairman, Presidential Inaugural Planning Committee and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, said the federal government need the prayers and cooperation of Nigerians to deliver the desired change.

TBI Africa quoted boss said this on Wednesday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) shortly after Buhari was sworn-in for the second term at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

Mustapha said government alone cannot provide all the needed development of the country without the support and cooperation of Nigerians.

”We need the cooperation of all Nigerians because government alone cannot get the country moving on the path of prosperity. So, we desire that the people of Nigeria should have confidence in the President.

”Nigerians should know for sure that when Buhari return Nigeria will continue to make progress in all sectors of human endeavour,” he said.

The SGF commended the President for his uncompromising integrity and doggedness in the fight against corruption.

”Just yesterday, Mr President signed his Asset Declaration Form. No change in bank account, no new bank account, no new houses nothing, after serving Nigeria for four years as President.

”That is an exemplary act that each and every Nigerian should emulate and this is an example to the African continent and the world and that is why the Heads of States and Government of Africa decided to make him their anti corruption champion,” SGF said.

Also speaking, the Attah of Igala and President, Kogi State Council of Chiefs, Dr Idakwo Oboni, believed in the capacity of the President to ensure growth and development through massive infrastructure especially in roads and railways.

”We are expecting the best from the President in the next tenure and we are praying for his government to succeed,” he said.

A former Deputy Governor of Plateau, Mrs Pauline Tallen, also said the President has the capacity to transform all the infrastructural deficits in Nigeria.

Tallen said that the President would perform more better in the areas of security, fight against corruption and economic recovery.

She, however, appealed for the inclusion of more women in the next cabinet.

”I believe Mr President will make Nigeria better. He will put smiles on the faces of Nigerians and I believe he will carry women along.

”Nigerian women are expecting thirty five per cent affirmative action in his next cabinet appointment and youths of Nigeria also expected greater involvement in governance.”
