EKEDC assures Badagry residents of adequate electricity supply

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) on Wednesday assured residents of Badagry, a coastal town in Lagos State of adequate electricity supply.

The EKEDC General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr Godwin Idemudia, gave the assurance while reacting to the recent power outage in the area.

Idemudia said the grossly overloaded feeder supply in Agbara caused the outage, adding that it had been rectified by the technical crew of the company.

He said that issues related to power supply to the coastal town had been repaired and power supply had been restored to the affected area.

The general manager apologised for the inconveniences caused by the power outage, promising that the company would ensure adequate electricity supply to the residents.

Idemudia urged residents of Badagry to ensure prompt payment of their monthly electricity bills.

According to him, EKEDC will use the money realised from the monthly energy revenue to pay for energy allocation from the grid.

Idemudia warned residents against vandalism of EKEDC installations in their areas, cautioning them against bypassing of the company’s meters.

He also advised the residents against attack on the company’s staff on field work.

Idemudia said EKEDC would ensure that such person or community face the full wrath of the law.

He assured residents still on analogue meters that prepaid meters under Meters Asset Providers (MAPs) scheme was on, urging residents to apply through the company’s website.

The general manager, however, promised that the company would do its best to serve the residents better.
