Breaking: Channels TV Reporter Shot During Shi’ites Protest Dies

 

The Channels TV reporter shot during today’s protests by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria in Abuja is dead.

The deceased, identified as Precious Owolabi, was a youth corps member serving in the Abuja station of Channels TV.

She was aged 23.

Her death was a reminiscent of the first Boko Haram attack in Kano in which a Channels TV correspondent, Enenche Akogwu, was killed on January 20, 2012.

Several others were reportedly killed during today’s protest, including a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Usman Umar Bele.
