Group to hold Pan-African energy conference in Lagos

The Oil and Gas Masters’ Ball Africa (OGMBA) on Monday said it planned to organise a Pan-African energy conference that would help to expand Nigeria’s investment terrain.

It said the conference would help to optimise the nation’s economy for growth and business tourism.

Its founder, Mr Oba Osoba, said in Lagos that the conference would host stakeholders with the aims to unite magnates in the energy industry as well as ensure high-level network.

He said the Oil and Gas Masters’ Ball 2019 would also identify and honour distinguished players in the energy sector, expand Nigeria’s investment terrain.

Osoba said: “This epoch-making energy conference aims to enhance business tourism in Nigeria and elevate the economy.

“This is an opportunity for industry stakeholders, government and  society at large to let their hair down and celebrate significant achievements.

“This will be done in a relaxed and absolutely fun-filled, high networking environment while continuing to give back to the society.”

The CEO said that OGMBA conference would constitute the fulcrum of business tourism and investment possibilities that would attract gathering of oil magnates from Africa as well as potential investors.

“Scheduled strategically to serve as a prequel to the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Grand Ball will adopt an Arabian theme where over 700 dignitaries across Africa will be treated to an experience of Arabian aesthetics, electrifying ambience, decor and entertainment.

“In the usual tradition of theming a ball, the dress code and decor will be decidedly ‘Coming To Abu Dhabi’ – a play on the much loved movie ‘Coming To America,” he added.

Osoba noted that there would be an exhibition centre where partner companies, sponsors and other brands would showcase their products and services to guests.

According to him, the Oil and Gas Masters’ Ball will pave way for other activities lined up by the parent company (Oil and Gas Grand Ball Africa).

He said such activities included the “Women in Oil and Gas Mentorship Brunch” and the“Oil and Gas Scholars Academy”.

“It also seeks to raise funds to finance humanitarian exploits in Nigerian states where oil and gas activities are carried out.

“The humanitarian exploits are, but not limited to, award of scholarships, renovation of classrooms and community centres.

“It will include donation of educational materials, cash rewards for outstanding teachers at state-owned schools and vocational trainings in local government constituencies among others.”

He noted that the Oil and Gas Grand Ball Africa would continue to seek collaborations and partnerships that could positively impact its charity activities across Africa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the maiden edition of the Oil and Gas Grand Ball would hold at the exquisite Civic Centre, Victoria Island on Nov. 24 at 6 pm.

The primary objective of Oil and Gas Grand Ball Africa is to connect industry players, stakeholders and other professionals to a dynamic network of people, insights, technical information, and ideas in a tradition that was not novel in the oil and gas sphere.
