He said the council started with hundreds of shortlisted applicants in phases which was tagged ‘Agboyi-Ketu Empowerment Scheme, We Lift 60 beneficiaries’.

The chairman said the empowerment would be a professional training in the area of fashion designing, shoe making, computer, graphics, hairdressing, just to mention a few.

Oshinowo said: “Let me assure that everyone who registers for the schemes will be trained because the future of the council to generate more resources is a must for its growth and development.

“The council believes that there is a bright future ahead of our trainees and we are confident that in the not-too-distant future, they will serve as major employers of labour.

“The trainees can also take away other youths from the street and boost our economic activities.’’
