IPMAN pledges to continue training tanker drivers

Abuja, Jan. 24, 2020 (NAN) Alhaji Suleiman Yakubu, the National Public Relations Officer of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) says the association will continue to train fuel tanker drivers in the country.

Yakubu said this on Friday in Abuja, adding that the association organised quarterly workshops  and re-training for drivers, following an existing synergy between Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD)  and IPMAN.

He added that “we always advice drivers to be cautious on the road.

“Accident is not an intentional act, but drivers have to be extra careful.”

He commended the synergy between Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), IPMAN, PTD and others for the training, saying it had helped in reducing drivers’ excesses on the road.

“The training also helped in improving drivers’ attitude and educated them on risks they were exposed to while driving.”
