The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration has disbursed a total sum of N3.736 billion in February as against the N3.8 billion shared in January 2021.
The money was disbursed to the six area councils and other stakeholders in the territory as their share of statutory allocation.
The figures show a shortfall of over N.088 billion in the February allocation.
FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, disclosed this at the 151st Joint area Council Allocation Committee (JAAC) chaired by the Minister in Abuja, yesterday.
She was represented by the FCT Permanent Secretary, Olusade Adesola.
A breakdown of the figures indicates that N2.08 billion was made available for distribution to the six area councils while the N1.7 billion went to other stakeholders, bringing the total sum to N3.7 billion.
The distribution to area councils shows that the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), received N383.7 million while Gwagwalada got N381.4 million as against Kuje’s N323.7 million.
Similarly, Bwari Area Council received N321.8 million. Abaji got N341.3 million while Kwali received N328 million.
Other stakeholders who received allocations were primary teachers, which tookN1.3 billion; 15 per cent pension funds took N226.5 million. One percent training fund amounted to N37.4 million while 10 per cent employer pension contribution gulped N107.9 million.
