Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija in Epe, felicitated Christians on the occassion of 2021 Easter celebration.
Ogunlaja said that all glory and adoration belong to God for keeping many people alive today and for ”us to witness this year’s Easter celebration.”
He said this in an interview in Epe, on Sunday.
Ogunlaja said that ”In spite of the challenges of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and the security challenges confronting the nation, many of us still survived.”
He urged his community to emulate Christ and abide by His teachings of love, humility, obedience and self-sacrifice.
“We all need to be security conscious in this festive period.
“The COVID-19 safety measures should be observed by ensuring wearing of face masks at all times.
“Without any shadow of doubt, Easter comes with the great lessons of sacrifice, perseverance, love, tolerance and ultimate victory.
“These virtues, amongst others, offer us a guide on how to live fulfilling and purposeful life,” he said.
He also urged Christians to internalise the invaluable teachings of Christ in their daily lives.
