Nigeria: 1,927,141 persons vaccinated so far, says NPHCDA

As of May 22, 2021, a total of 1,927,141 eligible Nigerians have been vaccinated with the first dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in the first phase of vaccination, according to the latest data from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).

Also, nine (9) states have reached 100 percent of their target population. The states are: Cross River, 117 percent; Kwara, 113 percent; Lagos, 113; FCT, 105 percent; Ekiti, 104 percent; Gombe, 103 percent; Rivers, 101 percent; Ogun, 101 percent; and Zamfara, 100 percent.

Lagos, FCT, Kano, and Kaduna have so far vaccinated the highest number of persons – 313,317; 130,561; 92,784; and 92,053 respectively.

This brings the proportion of Nigerians vaccinated with their first dose in this first phase to 95.8 percent.
