NiMet predicts 3-day dust haze from Tuesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze from Tuesday to Thursday across the country.

NiMet’s weather outlook released on Monday in Abuja predicted dust haze with horizontal visibility ranging from 2,000m to 5,000m and localised visibility of less than 1,000m over Northern region throughout the forecast period on Tuesday.

According to it, the North Central and the Inland cities of the South are expected to be under dust haze with visibility ranging from 2,000m to 5,000m.

The agency envisaged hazy skies with few clouds over the Coastal cities of the South with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Bayelsa, Delta, Ogun and coastal Ondo later in the day.

“For Wednesday, dust haze is anticipated over the North and North Central region throughout the forecast period. Hazy skies with few clouds are expected over the Inland and Coastal cities of the South during the forecast period.

“For Thursday, thick dust haze with horizontal visibility of less than 1000m is anticipated over the Northern region throughout the forecast period.

“Dust haze is anticipated over the North Central region throughout the forecast period. Hazy skies with few clouds are expected over the Inland and Coastal cities of the South.

“However, early morning mist and fog are anticipated over the Coastal cities of the South,” it said.
