4,000 trucks to visit Lekki port daily – TTP

The Truck Transit Park has said that truck traffic around Lekki axis will be between 3,500 and 4,000 trucks daily when the port becomes fully operational.

The Co-founder and Managing Director of TTP, Mr Jama Onwubuariri, in a chat with our correspondent in Lagos, said that traffic around the axis currently stood at around 800 trucks daily.

“From our independent assessment, truck traffic at the Lekki-Epe axis is around 800 daily. And with the full commencement of operation of the Lekki deep seaport, the traffic could be around 3,500-4,000 daily,” he stated.

According to him, the firm is ready to deploy a call-up system on the axis to ensure that truck movements are properly managed.

“The electronic call-up system has successfully managed truck traffic in the Apapa and TinCan ports. We are ready to deploy it at the Lekki deep seaport. Our technology, Eto, has proven to be effective in easing traffic and promoting efficiency in the movement of cargo in and out of the ports. We are confident that similar success can be replicated in the Lekki axis should the call-up system be introduced,” he added.
