The Super Falcons of Nigeria have returned to the country following their triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where they secured their 10th continental title.
The team arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja aboard a chartered flight at approximately 2:26 p.m. on Monday.
On arrival, Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, was seen raising the WAFCON trophy high as she alighted from the aircraft, symbolising the team’s victorious homecoming.
Meanwhile, top government officials were gathered at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to welcome home Nigeria’s Super Falcons following their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The dignitaries presents were seen in video shared via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.
Among those present to receive the team were the Governors of Kaduna, Uba Sani, Governor of Kwara, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Imo State, Hope Uzodimma along with several federal ministers and sports dignitaries.
The Falcons clinched their 10th continental title over the weekend after defeating host nation Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses in a thrilling final held in Rabat, Morocco.
