As the U.K. prepares for an official visit from the United States, all eyes are on a rare and historic moment. Princess Kate and First Lady Melania Trump are set to make their first public appearance together.

The two women will team up for a youth-focused engagement as part of President Donald Trump’s second state visit to Britain, hosted by King Charles III.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the itinerary on September 10, outlining a three-day visit from September 16 to 18, with President Trump and First Lady Melania, 55, set to arrive on the evening of the 16th.

The next day, September 17, Princess Kate and Prince William will officially welcome the Trumps to the U.K. with a formal greeting at Windsor Castle, followed by a royal meeting with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Their arrival will be marked by a carriage procession and military honors, including a Guard of Honor inspection and march-past. A special luncheon in the State Dining Room will follow, with a display of items from the Royal Collection celebrating U.S.-U.K. relations.

On Thursday, September 18, Princess Kate and Melania Trump will head to Frogmore Gardens in Windsor for a hands-on, outdoor engagement with young Scouts. The duo will join U.K. Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels program, where children will be earning their “Go Wild” badge through nature-based activities.

This engagement is especially meaningful for Princess Kate, who has long been passionate about the outdoors. As Joint President of the Scout Association since 2020, and a former Brownie herself, Kate has continued to champion the value of outdoor learning.

During her cancer treatment in 2024, the Princess shared that time spent outdoors played a vital role in her recovery. She confirmed she was in remission in January 2025 after undergoing chemotherapy.

“She would say, ‘During my recovery, I spent a lot of time in the outdoors because that’s where I felt at peace.’ Or ‘myself and the family come out to the Lakes as often as we can,'” the Chief Scout said.

The visit will culminate with a state banquet hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle on the evening of September 18.

The trip also carries historic weight. President Trump becomes the first elected political leader in modern times to receive two state visit invitations from a British monarch.
