By Meletus EZE

The Niger State Government on Monday said it is in partnership with a foreign consortium to reconstruct the 84 kilometre Kateregi/Bida road to a dual carriageway at the cost of N30 billion.

Alhaji Danjuma Sallau, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy disclosed this in Minna.

“Niger State Government is negotiating with a foreign consortium that will dualise Kateregi/Bida road under Public Private Partnership (PPP) at the cost of N30 billion,’’ he said.

Sallau said that the contract duration was 36 month from November this year when the Memoranda of Understanding would be signed.

He said that toll gates with modern facilities would be attached to the road from Minna and Bida axis.

The Commissioner also said that modern motor parks with the capacity of 360 vehicles would be attached to the tollgates.

He said that the facility when completed would be managed by the government and private sector.
