Sultan urges unity among Muslims

By Aliyu DANLADI

The Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Saad Abubakar, on Friday cautioned Muslim organisations against divisions among themselves, saying that they would achieve more if they were united.

Abubakar spoke in Abeokuta, where he inaugurated the Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria’s National Central Mosque.

He cautioned Muslims against internal divisions and discrepancies, saying that uniting the Muslim faithful had been his main focus in the last 12 years.

“As Muslims, we have come along way and have seen the result of being together as brothers and sisters in Islam,” he said.

He commended members of the Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria  for their resilience and commitment that ensured the completion of the Mosque project whose foundation stone was laid 34 years ago.

The dignitaries at the occasion included Ogun Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Speaker, Ogun House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi, and the Registrar of Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Ishaq Oloyede.
