US Embassy cancels non-immigrant visa appointments over coronavirus fear

The United States Embassy in Nigeria has cancelled its routine non-immigrant visa appointments. This development implies that all those already scheduled for appointments will have such appointments cancelled.

The embassy in an email to applicants already scheduled for interview, said it will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but it did not provide a specific date.

It further added that the MRV fee remains valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.

The email however asked those that may have urgent matters and need to travel immediately to follow the guidelines on a web address provided to request for an emergency appointment.
