Outrage As Man Who Handled Abba Kyari’s Corpse Disposes Protective Gear Improperly

There is outrage on social media over a video which showed one of the men who handled the corpse of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, disposing his protective gear unprofessionally in the public.

Kyari, who died from complications related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Friday, was buried at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja on Saturday.

In the viral video, the man was seen bedside a car pulling off the personal protective equipment (PPE) he wore to the burial and dumping it in the open.

Dear @NCDCgov,

One of the persons that put Mallam Abba Kyari to the ground was spotted removing his protective gear in public. To make thing worst, he even abandoned it there and left. Can anything be done about this?

The video drew criticisms against the federal government, prompting the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to mobilize its Covid-19 task force to remove the PPE and disinfect the area.
