NDE trains 2, 000 unemployed youths in Kaduna

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has offered skills training to 2,000 unemployed persons mostly women, in Kaduna State, in 2018, the NDE Coordinator in the state, Alhaji Sani Maiwada, has said.

Maiwada made the disclosure at the presentation of starter packs to 200 women recently trained with the support of the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmad, on Friday in Kaduna.

The coordinator said 1, 400 of the beneficiaries were women and the remaining 600 young men were trained in various trades to enable them earn decent living.

He commended the minister for her support and advised the beneficiaries to make best use of the opportunity and set up their own businesses.

TBI Africa reports that the minister, who was represented by her Special Assistant, Hauwa Yahaya. presented starter packs and N5,000 to each of the 200 women drawn from the 23 local government areas of the state.

The 200 women were trained for six months on soap, cream, Pomade, air freshener production among others.
