Army sensitises residents of Badagry on its recruitment exercise

The Nigeria Army on Tuesday sentisised Badagry residents on the need to ensure they meet the general requirements of the forthcoming 2018 exercise into its Regular Recruitment Intake (RRI).

The Lagos State Recruitment Officer, Nigeria Army Maj. Godfrey Asemota, , said indigenes who enlisted for the exercise without fulfilling the general requirements would be disqualified.

He urged the youth in Badagry between the ages 18 and 22 years, to take advantage of the exercise and join the Nigeria Army.

According to Asemota, “you are expected to have a minimum of four credits in not more than two sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO,NABTEB, English language is a compulsory subject.

“The recruitment form is on our website at no cost. After filling the forms, applicants are expected to print out the forms.

“In respect to the age requirements, you’re to be between 18 and 22 years if you’re applying for Non-Tradesmen & Women by March 1, 2018.

If you’re registering for tradesmen or tradeswomen position, then you must be between 18 – 26 years by March 1, 2018,’’ he said.

He said that there was a space in the form in which a serving Lt. Col or its equivalent in the Navy, Air Force or a Divisional Police Officer would sign.

Asemota said that a Director or Deputy Director in the state’s ministry can also sign for the applicant.

The training officer said that there was a column in the form for parents or guardians of the applicant to sign, to dedicate the applicant to the service.

He urged the traditional rulers to ensure that the indigenes of their communities benefited from the exercise.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area, Hon. Oluwasegun Onilude, commended the Nigeria Army for the sensitisation exercise, adding that that it was the best of its kind in recent times.

Onilude, who was represented by Mr Kamorudeen Ajape, the Secretary to the Chairman, said that the sensitisation exercise was like bringing opportunity closer to the people.

According to the chairman, we know what it takes to give our people the right type of information needed for the recruitment exercise.

The Badagry traditional rulers and chiefs, Non-Governmental Organisations, Youth leaders, men and women all attended the sensitisation programme.
