NGO partners firm to train 500 youths on agro-businesses in Epe

An NGO, Concerned Nigerians Group (CNG), said on Monday that plans were under way to train 500 youths on various agricultural businesses in the Epe area of Lagos.

TBI Africa quoted Mr Titilayo Adebanjo, the Vice President of the organisation, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Epe, Lagos State.

He said that the development became necessary to improve the lives of the young ones and unemployed individuals in the area.

According to him, one of the core objectives of the organisation is to eliminate idleness from youths in the division, through vocational training and support.

Adebanjo said that the NGO would partner Agrorebirth Farm Consult in the training of the youths on how to live and attain sustainable income through agriculture.

He said that the training would cover agriculture businesses such as fish spawning, hatching and poultry production, smoke fish production, vegetable plantation, animal husbandry, agricultural marketing and investment, among others.

He added that the commencement date of the training would be made known soon.

“The training will be carried out within the Epe division. The training will be facilitated by foremost agricultural experts in the division.

“The organisation is working round the clock to make life meaningful for Epe indigenes.”

Adebanjo noted that land was available in the area for farming and agro-businesses.

He said that the NGO had, in the past, had organised several vocational training programmes as well as orientation on elections, counselling session and security awareness programmes.

Adebanjo listed the Epe division area to include Epe Central, Eredo, Agbowa, Ikosi- Ejirin and Ibeju Lekki.
